The McDowell Titans baseball team (Marion, NC), was overwhelmed 7-3 in Thursday's non-league outing with the visiting R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC)

The Hilltoppers now hold a 4-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to East Rutherford for a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A outing on Tuesday, March 14. R-S Central will confront a Cavaliers team coming off a 17-0 non-league win over Gaston Christian (Gastonia, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 5-0.

Next, the Titans confront the Erwin Warriors (Asheville, NC) in a The Mountain 3A/4A outing, on Tuesday, March 14. McDowell will attempt to advance on its 2-3 season record. The Warriors go into the outing with a 5-0 record after their 5-3 non-league win over North Henderson (Hendersonville, NC).
