Washburn Rural Blues (Topeka, KS) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Lawrence Lions (Lawrence, KS), 58-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Washburn Rural upgrades its record to 18-5 on the season. The Blues travel to Blue Valley (Stilwell, KS) to clash with the Tigers in a non-league bout on Friday, March 10. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 16-7. Blue Valley won 41-34 in their recent non-league bout against Shawnee Mission South (Shawnee Mission, KS)
