Arizona High School Softball - Mater Dei holds off Casteel
March 9, 2023: Queen Creek, AZ 85142 Mater Dei Monarchs (Santa Ana, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Casteel Colts (Queen Creek, AZ), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.
The Monarchs now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Saugus for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 9. Mater Dei will battle a Centurions squad coming off a 1-0 league loss to Valencia (Valencia, CA). The Centurions record now stands at 4-2.
With the loss, Casteel falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Colts travel to Grand Terrace (Grand Terrace, CA) to battle the Titans in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 10. The Titans enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. Grand Terrace lost 5-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Torrance (Torrance, CA)
