March 10, 2023: Carrollton, TX 75006 Spectators at Friday's non-league battle between the Midway Panthers (Waco, TX) and the host Newman Smith Trojans (Carrollton, TX), saw Midway's baseball squad knock off Newman Smith by a count of 11-1.
Coming up next, the Panthers play the Wylie Pirates (Wylie, TX) in a non-league battle, on Friday, March 10. Midway will attempt to move on its 12-2 season record. The Pirates enter the battle with a 0-5 record after their 4-2 non-league loss to Lone Star (Frisco, TX).
The Trojans now possess a 0-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Reedy for a 5A Region II District 9 battle on Tuesday, March 14. Newman Smith will play a Lions squad coming off a 8-6 non-league loss to Lebanon Trail (Frisco, TX). The Lions record now stands at 5-7.
