Crest Chargers (Shelby, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Chase Trojans (Forest City, NC), 7-5 in a league challenge.

The Chargers now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Kings Mountain for a South Mountain 2A/3A challenge on Tuesday, March 15. Crest will battle a Mountaineers squad coming off a 11-1 league loss to Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Mountaineers record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Chase falls to 3-3 on the campaign. The Trojans host Rutherfordton-Spindale Central (Rutherfordton, NC) to battle the Hilltoppers in a South Mountain 2A/3A challenge on Tuesday, March 15. The Hilltoppers enter the challenge with a record of 4-1. Rutherfordton-Spindale Central lost 5-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Brevard (Brevard, NC)
