The Poth Pirates softball team scored 12 runs and held the visiting Nixon-Smiley Mustangs to 2 in the Pirates league win on Tuesday.

The Pirates now possess a 6-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Karnes City for a 3A Region IV District 27 battle on Tuesday, March 18. Poth will confront a Badgers team coming off a 8-4 league win over Stockdale (Stockdale, TX). The Badgers record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Nixon-Smiley moves to 2-5 on the season. The Mustangs host Goliad (Goliad, TX) to confront the Tigers in a 3A Region IV District 27 battle on Tuesday, March 18. The Tigers come into the battle with a record of 3-3. Goliad won 16-0 in their recent non-league battle against Taft (Taft, TX)
