Marmaduke Greyhounds (Marmaduke, AR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Maynard Tigers (Maynard, AR), 9-8 in a league challenge.

The Greyhounds now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Poinsett County for a 2A-2 challenge on Tuesday, March 13. Marmaduke will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 10-0 non-league win over Rector (Rector, AR). The Warriors record now stands at 6-0.

With the loss, Maynard falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Tigers host Bay (Bay, AR) to battle the Yellowjackets in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 2. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 1-1.
