Leander Lions (Leander, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Elgin Wildcats (Elgin, TX), 8-2 in a non-league test.

With the win, Leander upgrades its record to 5-6 on the season. The Lions travel to Rouse (Leander, TX) to battle the Raiders in a 5A Region IV District 25 test on Wednesday, March 17. The Raiders come into the test with a record of 8-2.

With the defeat, Elgin falls to 4-12 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Cedar Creek (Cedar Creek, TX) to battle the Eagles in a 5A Region III District 18 test on Tuesday, March 16. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 1-3. Cedar Creek lost 21-0 in their recent non-league test against Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX)
