March 13, 2024: Columbus, NC 28722 Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Rosman Tigers (Rosman, NC), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.
The Wolverines now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hendersonville for a Mountain Foothills Seven 1A/2A challenge on Thursday, March 14. Polk County will battle a Bearcats squad coming off a 6-5 league win over Polk County (Columbus, NC). The Bearcats record now stands at 2-1.
With the loss, Rosman falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Tigers host Avery County (Newland, NC) to battle the Vikings in a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Thursday, March 14. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Avery County lost 19-6 in their recent league challenge against Rosman (Rosman, NC)
