Covenant Day Lions (Matthews, NC) supporters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad topple the visiting Gaston Christian Eagles (Gastonia, NC), 16-3 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Covenant Day improves its record to 5-1 on the year. The Lions travel to Wando (Mt. Pleasant, SC) to face the Warriors in a non-league game on Monday, March 17. The Warriors enter the game with a record of 1-5. Wando lost 5-0 in their recent non-league game against Fort Dorchester (North Charleston, SC)

The Eagles now hold a 1-4 record. They play next when they travel to Cannon for a non-league game on Tuesday, March 25. Gaston Christian will face a Cougars squad coming off a 12-1 non-league loss to High Point Christian Academy (High Point, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 3-4.
