In Friday's non-league bout, the Purvis Tornadoes (Purvis, MS) baseball squad overwhelmed the host Long Beach Bearcats (Long Beach, MS), by a count of 10-4.

The Tornadoes now own a 9-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Stone for a 5A Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, March 17. Purvis will clash with a Tomcats team coming off a 4-1 non-league win over Long Beach (Long Beach, MS). The Tomcats record now stands at 9-4.

With the defeat, Long Beach falls to 3-11 on the year. The Bearcats travel to Stone (Wiggins, MS) to play the Tomcats in a non-league game on Saturday, March 14.
