Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC), 11-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Timberwolves now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Davidson for a Mid-Piedmont 3A challenge on Tuesday, March 19. Montgomery Central will battle a Black Knights squad coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Eastern Alamance (Mebane, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Pinecrest falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Patriots host Lee County (Sanford, NC) to battle the Yellow Jackets in a Sandhills 3A/4A challenge on Friday, March 15. The Yellow Jackets enter the challenge with a record of 0-4. Lee County lost 6-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Chatham Central (Bear Creek, NC)
