Maryland High School Baseball - Archbishop Spalding nips Gonzaga
March 15, 2023: Severn, MD 21144 Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers (Severn, MD) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Gonzaga Eagles (Washington, DC), 5-4 in a non-league test.
With the win, Archbishop Spalding upgrades its record to 3-0 on the season. The Cavaliers travel to St. Mary's (Annapolis, MD) to battle the Saints in a MIAA A test on Monday, April 3. The Saints come into the test with a record of 0-0.
With the defeat, Gonzaga falls to 2-2 on the season. The Eagles host St. Mary's Ryken (Leonardtown, MD) to battle the Knights in a Washington Catholic test on Saturday, March 18. The Knights come into the test with a record of 0-1. St. Mary's Ryken lost 14-4 in their recent league test against St. John's (Washington, DC)
