SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Farmville Central Jaguars (Farmville, NC), 5-4 in a league test.

With the win, SouthWest Edgecombe upgrades its record to 4-2 on the season. The Cougars host Greene Central (Snow Hill, NC) to battle the Rams in a Eastern Plains 2A test on Tuesday, March 19. The Rams come into the test with a record of 7-0. Greene Central won 5-3 in their recent non-league test against Southside (Chocowinity, NC)

With the defeat, Farmville Central falls to 3-3 on the season. The Jaguars travel to Ayden - Grifton (Ayden, NC) to battle the Chargers in a Eastern Plains 2A test on Tuesday, March 19. The Chargers come into the test with a record of 6-1. Ayden - Grifton won 8-7 in their recent league test against West Craven (Vanceboro, NC)
