Alaska High School Basketball - Kake crushes Newhalen
March 16, 2023: Kake, AK 99830 Kake Thunderbirds (Kake, AK) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Newhalen Malamutes (Newhalen, AK), 67-45 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Kake upgrades its record to 22-0 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds travel to Tri-Valley (Healy, AK) to play the Warriors in a non-league bout on Friday, March 17. The Warriors come into the bout with a record of 16-12. Tri-Valley won 65-63 in their recent non-league bout against Cook Inlet Academy (Soldotna, AK)
Next up, the Malamutes play the Cook Inlet Academy Eagles (Soldotna, AK) in a non-league bout, on Friday, March 17. Newhalen will attempt to upgrade on its 25-4 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 23-3 record after their 65-63 non-league loss to Tri-Valley (Healy, AK).
