Alabama High School Soccer - Athens nudges Austin
March 18, 2022: Athens, AL 35612 Athens Golden Eagles (Athens, AL) fans were pleased Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Austin Black Bears (Decatur, AL), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Golden Eagles confront the Cullman Bearcats (Cullman, AL) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, March 21. Athens will attempt to better on its 4-1 season record. The Bearcats enter the challenge with a 2-5 record after their 5-0 non-league loss to Florence (Florence, AL).
The Black Bears now have a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Tanner for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 21. Austin will confront a Rattlers team coming off a 7-3 non-league win over Priceville (Priceville, AL). The Rattlers record now stands at 5-3.
