North Carolina High School Baseball - Alexander Central defeats Ashe County
March 18, 2025: Taylorsville, NC 28681 The Alexander Central Cougars baseball team scored 10 runs and held the visiting Ashe County Huskies to 5 in the Cougars league win on Tuesday.
The Cougars now hold a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they host Watauga for a Northwestern 3A/4A test on Friday, March 21. Alexander Central will play a Pioneers team coming off a 2-1 league loss to South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Pioneers record now stands at 3-6.
With the defeat, Ashe County drops to 5-3 on the year. The Huskies host East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC) to play the Cardinals in a non-league test on Wednesday, March 19. The Cardinals go into the test with a record of 1-4. East Surry lost 4-2 in their recent league test against North Surry (Mount Airy, NC)
