The Veterans Memorial Patriots routed the host Seguin Matadors softball squad by a count of 16-9 in Tuesday's league battle.

The Patriots (15-4) will now prepare for their battle against Wagner (San Antonio, TX). The Thunderbirds go into the 5A Region IV District 26 battle with a 5-13 record. In their last battle, Wagner was routed by Tivy (Kerrville, TX), 9-0, in a league battle.

The Matadors now sport a 16-8 record. They play next when they travel to Canyon for a 5A Region IV District 26 battle on Friday, March 22. Seguin will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 11-0 league loss to Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX). The Cougars record now stands at 7-7.
