In Wednesday's non-league test, the Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), by a tally of 12-2.

Next, the Bulldogs clash with the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A test, on Friday, March 21. Murphy will attempt to advance on its 3-2 season record. The Maroon Devils go into the test with a 6-3 record after their 6-2 league win over Murphy (Murphy, NC).

The Mustangs (2-8) will now prepare for their test against Pisgah (Canton, NC). The Bears go into the Mountain Seven 3A test with a 3-3 record. In their last test, Pisgah was routed by Brevard (Brevard, NC), 8-7, in a non-league test.
