Brookland Bearcats (Brookland, AR) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Holcomb Hornets (Holcomb, MO), 12-11 in a non-league challenge.

The Bearcats now sport a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Southside for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 20.

With the loss, Holcomb falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Portageville (Portageville, MO) to face the Bulldogs in a District 2 challenge on Tuesday, March 23. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Portageville won 20-16 in their recent league challenge against Campbell (Campbell, MO)
