Illinois High School Soccer - Shepard nudges Oak Forest
March 20, 2023: Palos Heights, IL 60463 Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL) fans were pleased Monday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Oak Forest Bengals (Oak Forest, IL), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Astros confront the Joliet West Tigers (Joliet, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, March 24. Shepard will attempt to better on its 1-2 season record. The Tigers enter the challenge with a 2-2 record after their 4-1 non-league win over Blue Island Eisenhower (Blue Island, IL).
The Bengals now have a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Marian Catholic for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 22. Oak Forest will confront a Spartans team coming off a 6-1 non-league loss to Thornton Fractional North/Thornton Fractional South (Calumet City, IL). The Spartans record now stands at 0-3.
