March 21, 2023: Rogue River, OR 97537 Rogue River Chieftains (Rogue River, OR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Phoenix Pirates (Phoenix, OR), 9-6 in a non-league challenge.
The Chieftains now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Brookings-Harbor for a 3A Far West challenge on Wednesday, March 22. Rogue River will face a Bruins squad coming off a 16-2 non-league loss to North Bend (North Bend, OR). The Bruins record now stands at 0-3.
With the loss, Phoenix falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Pirates host Eagle Point (Eagle Point, OR) to face the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 23. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Eagle Point won 17-0 in their recent non-league challenge against North Valley (Grants Pass, OR)
