The Seaman girls’ soccer team made a triumphant return to the field on Thursday night as they played their season home opener against the Spring Hill Broncos. The Vikings came out strong from the start and dominated a young Spring Hill team for the majority of the game, ultimately defeating the Broncos with a score of 5-0.
The first goal of the game came from Stella Appelhanz in the first half, as she scored on a clever tap-in off a lovely low cross from Savannah Nelson. Maya Martin extended the lead to 2-0 early in the second half with a close shot assisted by Ava “Goose” Golightly. Freshman Julia Molleker then made an impact by scoring a Golazo to make it 3-0, almost breaking the sound barrier with the power of her shot. Goose Golightly then scored two more goals, one with an assist from Ryin Miller, to bring the final score to 5-0 in favor of the Vikes.
