Kentucky High School Softball - Metcalfe County bounces Washington County
March 21, 2024: Springfield, KY 40069 Metcalfe County Hornets (Edmonton, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Washington County Commanders (Springfield, KY), 36-31 in a non-league challenge.
The Hornets now own a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Todd County Central for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 22. Metcalfe County will face a Rebels squad coming off a 7-2 non-league win over McLean County (Calhoun, KY). The Rebels record now stands at 2-1.
With the loss, Washington County falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Commanders host Taylor County (Campbellsville, KY) to face the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 22. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 4-1. Taylor County won 5-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Cumberland County (Burkesville, KY)
