Game Summary
In their annual Battle of the Cardinals and with the game hanging in the balance, the La Salle Cardinals committed three fielding miscues, which lead to four runs and an eventual 6-7 loss to the Cardinals of Cardinal Hayes, yesterday afternoon at Harris Park in the Bronx. It was the second time in as many games that La Salle stood toe-to-toe against a school from the CHSAA’s top tier ‘AA’ division. However, unlike the season opener against All Hallows, La Salle pitching and hitting showed up to the field. Starter, Anthony Gonzalez (LSA), gave up only 1 hit and 1 run over his three-inning outing. Manuel Ramirez (L, 0-2) came on in relief and surrendered six runs, three earned, on six hits but the late inning defensive lapses erased what was an otherwise excellent pitching performance.
