Newark Memorial Cougars (Newark, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting American Eagles (Fremont, CA), 13-1 in a league challenge.

The Cougars now own a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they host Mission San Jose for a Mission Valley challenge on Thursday, March 23. Newark Memorial will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 26-0 non-league win over Hayward (Hayward, CA). The Warriors record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, American falls to 3-1 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Irvington (Fremont, CA) to battle the Vikings in a Mission Valley challenge on Thursday, March 23.
