March 22, 2023: Sussex, VA 23884 In Wednesday's non-league contest, the Charles City Panthers (Charles City, VA) softball team held off the host Sussex Central Tigers (Sussex, VA), by a margin of 1-0.
With the triumph, Charles City moves its record to 2-1 on the year. The Panthers host Essex (Tappahannock, VA) to play the Trojans in a non-league contest on Friday, March 24. The Trojans come into the contest with a record of 2-0. Essex won 6-5 in their recent non-league contest against Middlesex (Saluda, VA)
In their next game, the Tigers play the Greensville County Eagles (Emporia, VA) in a Tri-Rivers contest, on Tuesday, March 28. Sussex Central will attempt to move on its 1-2 season record. The Eagles come into the contest with a 1-2 record after their 5-1 league loss to Southampton (Courtland, VA).
