The Preston Knights baseball team scored 9 runs and held the visiting Notre Dame Fighting Irish to 4 in the Knights non-league win on Saturday.

The Knights now hold a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Lewis County for a Big Ten test on Monday, March 24. Preston will play a Minutemen team coming off a 12-1 non-league loss to Spring Mills (Martinsburg, WV). The Minutemen record now stands at 0-2.

With the defeat, Notre Dame drops to 1-2 on the year. The Fighting irish host Ritchie County (Ellenboro, WV) to play the Rebels in a non-league test on Tuesday, March 25. The Rebels go into the test with a record of 0-3. Ritchie County lost 6-0 in their recent league test against Tyler (Sistersville, WV)
