Virginia High School Softball - Amherst County bounces Alleghany
March 22, 2025: Amherst, VA 24521 The Amherst County Lancers softball team scored 19 runs and held the visiting Alleghany Cougars to 6 in the Lancers non-league win on Saturday.
The Lancers now possess a 2-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Halifax County for a non-league battle on Saturday, March 22. Amherst County will confront a Comets team coming off a 11-4 non-league win over Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA). The Comets record now stands at 3-0.
With the loss, Alleghany moves to 1-2 on the season. The Cougars travel to Wilson Memorial (Fishersville, VA) to confront the Green Hornets in a non-league battle on Monday, March 31. The Green Hornets come into the battle with a record of 0-2.
