March 22, 2025: Hopkinsville, KY 42240 The Heritage Christian Academy Warriors triumphed over the visiting Warren Central Dragons softball squad by a count of 21-16 in Saturday's non-league challenge.
Next, the Warriors meet the Dawson Springs Panthers (Dawson Springs, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, March 24. Heritage Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Panthers enter the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 17-6 non-league loss to Mayfield (Mayfield, KY).
The Dragons (0-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Todd County Central (Elkton, KY). The Rebels enter the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, Todd County Central was routed by Cumberland County (Burkesville, KY), 8-7, in a non-league challenge.
Game Summary
The Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors picked up their first win of the season Saturday as they split a home doubleheader with the Warren Central Lady Dragons. HCA took the opener in a shootout, winning 21-16. Warren Central came back and took the second half of the doubleheader 11-8.
In the opener, the Lady Warriors broke open a back-and-forth game with 10 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. HCA then held on to take the 21-16 win.
HCA was up 9-5 after three but saw Warren Central score six runs in the top of the fourth to take an 11-9 lead. The Lady Warriors tied it with two runs in the bottom half of the inning, only to see the Lady Dragons take a 12-11 lead in the top of the 5th.
The first five batters for HCA all reached base safely in the bottom of the fifth as the Lady Warriors erupted for 10 runs to take a 21-12 lead. Warren Central scored a run in the sixth and three in the seventh but the Lady Warriors were able to hold on for the win 21-16
