In Monday's non-league test, the Westgate Tigers (New Iberia, LA) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting Franklin Hornets (Franklin, LA), by a tally of 28-13.

Next, the Tigers meet the David Thibodaux Bulldogs (Lafayette, LA) in a 4A District 4 test, on Tuesday, March 24. Westgate will attempt to advance on its 6-7 season record. The Bulldogs go into the test with a 5-9 record after their 17-8 non-league loss to Cecilia (Cecilia, LA).

The Hornets (0-13) will now prepare for their test against St. Martinville (St. Martinville, LA). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 0-10 record. In their last outing, St. Martinville was routed by Midland (Midland, LA), 25-5, in a non-league outing.
