March 24, 2023: Lindside, WV 24951 The crowd at Friday's non-league match between the East Fairmont Bees (Fairmont, WV) and the host James Monroe Mavericks (Lindside, WV), saw East Fairmont's softball squad nip James Monroe by a count of 12-9.
The Bees now sport a 1-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shady Spring for a non-league match on Saturday, March 25. East Fairmont will face a Tigers squad coming off a 14-13 league win over Liberty (Glen Daniel, WV). The Tigers record now stands at 2-1.
With the loss, James Monroe falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Mavericks host Liberty (Clarksburg, WV) to face the Mountaineers in a Big Ten match on Saturday, March 25. The Mountaineers enter the match with a record of 3-1. Liberty won 7-2 in their recent league match against Bridgeport (Bridgeport, WV)
