Spectators at Saturday's non-league battle between the South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS) and the visiting Independence Wildcats (Independence, MS), saw South Pontotoc's baseball squad knock off Independence by a count of 11-3.

Coming up next, the Cougars play the North Pontotoc Vikings (Ecru, MS) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, March 28. South Pontotoc will attempt to move on its 13-2 season record. The Vikings enter the battle with a 1-3 record after their 10-8 non-league loss to Jackson Christian (Jackson, TN).
