Mississippi High School Baseball - Morton loses to Newton County
March 25, 2023: Decatur, MS 39327 The Newton County Cougars baseball team scored 9 runs and limited the visiting Morton Panthers to 5 in the Cougars non-league victory on Saturday.
The Cougars (10-8) will now prepare for their match against Quitman (Quitman, MS). The Panthers go into the 4A Region 5 match with a 6-1 record. In their last match, Quitman tipped Paul W. Bryant (Cottondale, AL), 7-5, in a non-league match.
The Panthers (3-6) will now prepare for their match against Union (Union, MS). The Yellowjackets go into the 3A Region 5 match with a 3-13 record. In their last match, Union was overwhelmed by Sebastopol (Sebastopol, MS), 14-4, in a non-league match.
