Loyd Star Hornets (Brookhaven, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Riverside Bulldogs (Avon, MS), 10-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now sport a 14-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Vicksburg for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 25. Loyd Star will face a Gators squad coming off a 9-4 non-league loss to Lawrence County (Monticello, MS). The Gators record now stands at 3-6.

With the loss, Riverside falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Cleveland Central (Cleveland, MS) to face the Wolves in a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 1. The Wolves enter the challenge with a record of 8-4.
