Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Landstown Eagles (Virginia Beach, VA), 8-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Bruins now own a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Deep Creek for a Southeastern challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Western Branch will face a Hornets squad coming off a 20-0 non-league win over Catholic (Virginia Beach, VA). The Hornets record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, Landstown falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Salem (Virginia Beach, VA) to face the Sundevils in a Beach challenge on Tuesday, March 26.
