The crowd at Tuesday's league battle between the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) and the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), saw Ashe County's baseball team gain a win over Freedom by a tally of 7-2.

The Huskies (8-4) will now prepare for their battle against North Surry (Mount Airy, NC). The Greyhounds enter the non-league battle with a 4-5 record. In their last battle, North Surry held off Forbush (East Bend, NC), 7-3, in a league battle.

Next, the Patriots face the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A battle, on Friday, March 28. Freedom will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Pioneers enter the battle with a 4-7 record after their 3-1 league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC).
