March 25, 2025: Fitzgerald, GA 31750 Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane (Fitzgerald, GA) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the visiting Tiftarea Academy Panthers (Chula, GA), 3-1 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Fitzgerald moves its record to 6-7 on the campaign. The Purple Hurricane host Bacon County (Alma, GA) to clash with the Raiders in a 1A D-I Region 1 test on Thursday, March 27. The Raiders come into the test with a record of 3-6. Bacon County lost 4-1 in their recent league test against Jeff Davis (Hazlehurst, GA)
The Panthers now sport a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Deerfield-Windsor for a GIAA AAA/AAAA District 3 test on Thursday, March 27. Tiftarea Academy will clash with a Knights team coming off a 2-1 league win over Brookwood (Thomasville, GA). The Knights record now stands at 4-2.
