The Anderson Cubs edged the visiting Redding Christian Lions softball squad by a count of 9-8 in Tuesday's non-league challenge.

Next, the Cubs meet the Gridley Bulldogs (Gridley, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, March 27. Anderson will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a 6-1 record after their 13-3 non-league win over Hamilton (Hamilton City, CA).

The Lions (1-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Hoopa Valley (Hoopa, CA). The Warriors enter the non-league challenge with a 0-5 record. In their last challenge, Hoopa Valley was nudged by Elmira (Elmira, OR), 14-0, in a non-league challenge.
