March 26, 2024: Covington, LA 70433 The crowd at Tuesday's league match between the Covington Lions (Covington, LA) and the visiting Hammond Tornadoes (Hammond, LA), saw Covington's softball squad achieve victory over Hammond by a count of 16-1.
The Lions now sport a 12-11 record. They take the field next when they travel to Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy for a non-league match on Wednesday, March 27. Covington will face a Tigers squad coming off a 10-3 non-league loss to Academy of Our Lady (Marrero, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 10-4.
With the loss, Hammond falls to 3-13 on the campaign. The Tornadoes travel to Mandeville (Mandeville, LA) to face the Skippers in a 5A District 6 match on Wednesday, March 27. The Skippers enter the match with a record of 14-6. Mandeville won 15-1 in their recent league match against Fontainebleau (Mandeville, LA)
