Sparks Railroaders (Sparks, NV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Truckee Wolverines (Truckee, CA), 8-4 in a league challenge.

The Railroaders now own a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Spring Creek for a Northern 3A challenge on Tuesday, April 6. Sparks will battle a Spartans squad coming off a 3-2 league loss to Fernley (Fernley, NV). The Spartans record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, Truckee drops to 4-4 on the year. The Wolverines host Dayton (Dayton, NV) to clash with the Dust Devils in a Northern 3A game on Wednesday, March 31. The Dust Devils come into the game with a record of 4-5. Dayton lost 11-1 in their recent league game against Lowry (Winnemucca, NV)
