Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting New Hanover Wildcats (Wilmington, NC), 15-0 in a league challenge.

The Buccaneers now sport a 9-1 record. They take the field next when they host South Central for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 4.

With the loss, New Hanover falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Hoggard (Wilmington, NC) to face the Vikings in a Mideastern 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 6-3. Hoggard lost 1-0 in their recent league challenge against South Brunswick (Southport, NC)
