In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Hempfield Area Spartans lacrosse squad scored a tight 9-8 triumph over the Franklin Regional Panthers.

The Spartans (3-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Seneca Valley (Harmony, PA). The Raiders go into the non-league challenge with a 1-1 record.

Next, the Panthers clash with the Bethel Park Black Hawks (Bethel Park, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 1 battle, on Tuesday, April 1. Franklin Regional will attempt to advance on its 1-3 season record.
