The Central Academy Cougars (Monroe, NC) softball nipped the visiting Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC), 10-9 in Thursday's league outing.

The Cougars now sport a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Sun Valley for a non-league outing on Monday, March 31. Central Academy will encounter a Spartans team coming off a 14-4 league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 3-6.

With the loss, Anson moves to 4-11 on the season. The Bearcats host Parkwood (Monroe, NC) to encounter the Wolf Pack in a Rocky River 2A/3A outing on Tuesday, April 1.
