Tennessee High School Softball - Independence gets by Summit

In Thursday's league match, the host Independence Eagles softball team scored a tight 2-1 victory over the Summit Spartans.

The Eagles (8-5) will now prepare for their match against Central Hardin (Cecilia, KY). The Bruins go into the non-league match with a 5-3 record. In their last match, Central Hardin was nipped by Marion County (Lebanon, KY), 6-2, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Spartans battle the Floyd Central Highlanders (Floyds Knobs, IN) in a non-league match, on Friday, March 28. Summit will attempt to better on its 6-6 season record. The Highlanders go into the match with a 2-0 record after their 4-0 non-league win over Warren County (McMinnville, TN).
