In Thursday's non-league test, the South Fayette Lions (McDonald, PA) softball squad overwhelmed the host Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA), by a tally of 20-3.

Next, the Lions meet the Avonworth Antelopes (Pittsburgh, PA) in a non-league test, on Wednesday, April 2. South Fayette will attempt to advance on its 4-2 season record.

The Fightin' Planets (1-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Plum (Pittsburgh, PA). The Mustangs enter the non-league challenge with a 7-1 record. In their last challenge, Plum overcame West Mifflin (West Mifflin, PA), 8-4, in a non-league challenge.
