Spectators at Thursday's league battle between the Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS) and the host Pontotoc Warriors (Pontotoc, MS), saw Lafayette's baseball squad beat Pontotoc by a margin of 5-1.

Coming up next, the Commodores play the New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) in a 5A Region 1 battle, on Tuesday, April 2. Lafayette will attempt to better on its 17-5 season record. The Trojans enter the battle with a 14-4 record after their 3-2 non-league win over Kosciusko (Kosciusko, MS).
