The Loyd Star Hornets softball team scored 15 runs and limited the host Vicksburg Gators to 3 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Loyd Star moves its record to 9-8 on the year. The Hornets host West Lincoln (Brookhaven, MS) to clash with the Bears in a 2A Region 7 game on Tuesday, March 30. The Bears come into the game with a record of 4-3. West Lincoln lost 6-5 in their recent non-league game against Brookhaven (Brookhaven, MS)

In their next game, the Gators clash with the St. Joseph Catholic Bruins (Madison, MS) in a non-league game, on Thursday, April 1. Vicksburg will attempt to move on its 3-6 season record. The Bruins come into the game with a 6-3 record after their 11-3 league win over Pelahatchie (Pelahatchie, MS).
