Central Cabarrus Vikings (Concord, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mount Pleasant Tigers (Mt. Pleasant, NC), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 9-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Carson for a South Piedmont 3A challenge on Friday, March 31. Central Cabarrus will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 4-3 non-league win over Davie (Mocksville, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Mount Pleasant falls to 8-3 on the campaign. The Tigers host Cox Mill (Concord, NC) to battle the Chargers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 30. The Chargers enter the challenge with a record of 5-5. Cox Mill won 6-5 in their recent league challenge against South Iredell (Statesville, NC)
