Valley Center Hornets (Valley Center, KS) fans were thrilled Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host McPherson Bullpups (McPherson, KS), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Hornets confront the Maize Eagles (Maize, KS) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, April 2. Valley Center will attempt to better on its 3-1 season record. The Eagles enter the challenge with a 1-2 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Bishop Carroll (Wichita, KS).

The Bullpups now have a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Augusta for a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division III challenge on Tuesday, April 2.
